This term our topic is 'This is Me!'
It is a topic in which we will be exploring what makes us individuals, what keeps us healthy, our goals and aspirations and next steps. So far we have been visited by Nurse Christine Clarke (from St John's ambulance) and Lloyd Germaine, Ramaya's dad and a professional boxer who came to talk to the children about resilience, good sportsmanship and seizing opportunities. We have made a great start to the term and the children all seem very settled. Thank you for your help and support getting them back in and raring to go!
Half way through the first half term now...time is flying!
We thoroughly enjoyed our Zoolab visit! Class 9 pupils behaved very respectfully toward Lucy and her animal friends, keeping noise level to a minimum at all times, being gentle when handling the various creatures and asking some excellent questions.
The children enjoyed an inspirational visit from Dave Brayley, a Welsh published author. Children were interested to learn about his journey to become an author and were keen to quiz him about his life and work!
This week, we are being visited by Design to Smile to learn about how to properly care for our teeth and why it is important. Next week we are off to Techniquest...as you can see we are keeping quite busy!
Thank you to parents and carers for helping your children to complete homework and learn spellings for our weekly tests. We are looking forward to meeting you all in November for our first year 4 parents meetings.
